  • Conducting legal research and analysis, preparing studies, briefs, reports, and correspondence.
  • Reviewing legal documents, instruments, or other materials.
  • Drafting or assisting in the preparation and review of agreements, contracts, negotiation, and settlement of claims and disputes.


  • Professionalism, including knowledge of international criminal tribunals and the United Nations system.
  • Strong drafting skills, ability to work under pressure, good legal, strategic, and policy judgment.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Teamwork and collaboration.


  • Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in law, preferably in international law.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in law, including legal analysis, research, and writing.
  • Previous working experience with international organizations is desirable.
  • Proven experience in international criminal courts (ICTR, ICTY, or IRMCT) is desirable.


  • Fluency in oral and written English is required.
  • Working knowledge of French is desirable.
