Terms of Reference (ToR) for Water Supply Project

Project Title: (CONSTRUCTION OF THE PROPOSED WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM)

Background:
Good Neighbors Tanzania is implementing a Water Supply Project aimed at providing sustainable access to clean and safe drinking water for the community in [Project Location]. The project is part of our commitment to improving the well-being of communities and promoting sustainable development.

Objectives:
The primary objectives of the Water Supply Project are as follows:

1. To provide a reliable and sustainable source of clean and safe drinking water to the community in [MWANZA].
2. To enhance community awareness and capacity in water resource management, hygiene, and sanitation practices.

Scope of Work:
The selected contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:

1. Water Infrastructure Development:

• Conduct a detailed assessment of the existing water sources and infrastructure.
• Design and construct water supply systems, including wells, pumps, and distribution networks, based on the assessment.

1. Community Engagement:

• Facilitate community consultations to understand their water needs and preferences.
• Conduct training sessions on water management, hygiene, and sanitation practices.

1. Project Management:

• Develop a detailed project plan, including timelines and milestones.
• Implement and monitor the project activities in accordance with the plan.

1. Quality Assurance:

• Ensure the construction and installation of water infrastructure meet quality standards and adhere to relevant regulations.

1. Monitoring and Evaluation:

• Establish a monitoring and evaluation framework to track project progress.
• Conduct regular site visits to assess the functionality and impact of the water supply systems.

Qualifications:
The contractor should have:

• Demonstrated experience in implementing water supply projects.
• Expertise in water infrastructure development and community engagement.
• Knowledge of local regulations and standards related to water supply.

Submission of Proposals:
Interested and qualified contractors are invited to submit their proposals, including a detailed technical and finan (gntzmwanza@goodneighbors.or.tz) cial proposal, CVs of key personnel, and examples of similar projects completed. Proposals should be submitted to [] by [20^th December 2023].

Selection Criteria:
The selection of the contractor will be based on the following criteria:

1. Technical expertise and experience.
2. Cost-effectiveness of the proposal.
3. Demonstrated understanding of community engagement in water projects.

Contractual Arrangements:
The selected contractor will enter into a formal agreement with Good Neighbors Tanzania. Payment will be made based on agreed-upon milestones and deliverables.
