About Mkinga District Council (DC)
Mkinga is one of the 11 Councils in Tanga region which was officially established on 01/07/2007 after being separated from Muheza District which was established in 1974. This district is bordered by Muheza District and Tanga in the south, Korogwe and Lushoto Districts. on the West, the Republic of Kenya on the north and the Indian Ocean on the east. The district has an area of 2,948 square kilometers.
