1.Logistics Associate G6 – Operations Documentations 

To provide specialized support functions and/or supervise staff performing standard logistics/supply chain processes and activities to enable effective delivery of goods and services for all delivery modalities.

Key Accountabilities (not all-inclusive)

Provide specialized support to supply chain operations and activities, following standard processes and contributing, directly or indirectly, to the effective delivery of food assistance to beneficiaries. Coordinate requisitioning and ensure timely delivery of commodities and supplies to authorized partners and destinations Support management of supply chain vendors’ contracting activities including performance monitoring and measurement. Support the vendor selection process by gathering market intelligence and vendor assessments (e.g., transporters, food suppliers, and retailers).

Identify, resolve, and/or provide recommendations on specialized technical queries/requests for support, using initiative and following standard processes, to ensure timely and accurate resolution of inquiries with an excellent client service mindset Prepare, monitor, and revise the budget for all delivery modalities, ensuring adherence to relevant procedures and in compliance with corporate standards. Monitoring supply chain inventory management processes to track trends and account for the inventory status from source to the beneficiaries.

2.Assistant Storekeeper – G3 

To support receipt/dispatch and verification of commodities in order to maximise quality of warehouse operations and mitigate losses, and to support the best storage management practices in compliance with WFP warehouse guidelines and standards.

Key Accountabilities (not all-inclusive)

Support receipt/dispatch commodities including transshipment (truck to truck) against official approved documentation (e.g. waybills and/or delivery notes) ensuring accuracy in physical count of commodities including the quality in compliance with the established standards. Prepare and verify warehouse and transport documents, and maintain confidential files and accurate warehouse transaction records, to ensure immediate reporting on commodity movements in line with the corporate requirements. Support daily warehouse closing reconciliation and accurate inventory checks in compliance with the warehouse management requirements. Perform daily inspections and prepare reports on the quantity and quality of the commodities received/dispatched and handled and refer to the supervisor for appropriate action. Support implementation of appropriate measures to safeguard food and non-food commodities to ensure quality control using standard preventive measures in line with WFP established procedures and authorization received from the supervisor. Monitor condition of the warehouse and commodities and take appropriate actions to support efficient warehouse space-utilization and well-organized commodity storage following WFP warehouse standards.

3.Logistics Assistant G5 – Commodity Accounting & Reports 

To implement well-defined standard logistics/supply chain processes and activities to enable effective delivery of goods and services for all delivery modalities.

Key Accountabilities (not all-inclusive)

Provide support to supply chain operations and activities, following standard processes and facilitating, directly or indirectly, the effective delivery of food assistance to beneficiaries. Assist in monitoring inventory management processes to track trends and account for the inventory status from source to beneficiaries. Assist in the management of commodity accounting data quality, integrity, and reports. Support operational pipeline analyses, assessments, and operational planning for all delivery modalities. Support timely ordering and delivery of commodities and supplies to authorized partners and destinations. Support management of supply chain vendors’ contracting activities including performance monitoring and measurement.

4.National Food Technologist SC8

To collect, analyze and report on information as a basis for maximizing the efficiency of food technology activities and enhancing food risk assessment and management. In the event of food safety incidents, support investigation exercises to enable lessons learned to be documented and shared, to reduce the re-occurrence of the incident. Nafasi 10 za kazi WFP 2023

Key Accountabilities (not all-inclusive)

Collate and analyze data and contribute to the preparation of reports relating to food quality and safety, to inform risk management and mitigation, and contribute to a WFP wide view of food technology activities. Prepare evidenced-based recommendations for management on control measures to combat and reduce food commodity losses and food quality and safety issues. Prepare evidenced-based recommendations for management on tools to enable rapid response to situations with food safety concerns. In the event of food safety incidents, support investigation exercises to enable lessons learned to be documented and shared, to reduce the re-occurrence of the incident.

5.Driver

These jobs are found in Regional Bureaux (RBs), Country Offices (COs), Area Offices (AOs) and Field Offices (FOs). Job holders report to the Administration Officer, Logistics Officer or the designate, and drive light vehicles, trucks, vans, motorcycles or any other type of land transport. They may also be assigned to operate speed boats or other types of watercrafts. The job may involve basic administrative assistance in the office or stores.

Key Accountabilities (not all-inclusive)

Provide transportation of authorized personnel including translation of basic conversations from/to the local language, and/or delivery of various items/commodities following authorized routing and UN safety and security rules and regulations to ensure safe and efficient services. Meet official personnel and visitors at the airport or other entry points and provide basic assistance with visa and customs formalities to facilitate smooth and safe entry and arrival to the authorised destinations. Responsible for accurate maintenance of the vehicle log books, and daily reporting to the supervisor on mechanical status, to ensure efficient vehicle use and fuel consumption supporting accurate accounting and cost-efficiency.

Responsible that the assigned vehicle is kept clean and in a good condition including all equipment, the maintenance is done on time, vehicle is fully equipped with required travel authorisations and supplies, and any mechanical issues are reported to the supervisor to ensure safe and efficient services. Follow established rules and regulations for field deliveries and/or in cases of an accident, and report immediately to the supervisor on any apparent problems, to seek for instructions and facilitate informative decisions on the way forward. Outside driving duties, perform basic office related tasks such as filing, photocopying and maintaining stores when required including delivery/collection of various items, mailing service and payment of office telephone and other bills to ensure administrative support to clients.

6.Programme Associate

These jobs are found in Headquarters (HQ), Regional Bureaux (RBs) and Country Offices (COs), and report to a Head of Unit, Chief, or Procurement Officer.Job holders at this level demonstrate responsibility and initiative to respond independently to queries and problems with only general guidance. There is a requirement to use judgment in dealing with unforeseen problems on a daily basis. Job holders have a level of expertise and knowledge to adapt and contribute to the development of systems and processes in order to continually improve the level of support provided. Job holders supervise, provide technical advice, coach and coordinate a team of support staff.

Standard Minimum Qualifications

Education: Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area. Having a bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Agriculture economics, agribusiness, rural development, natural resources management of other related fields is an added advantage. 7. Driver SC2

 Drive any means of transport (light vehicle, tractor, truck, motorcycle, etc) for the transport of authorised WFP staff member, visitors, goods, mails etc. Provide reliable driving services to authorized WFP staff members, officials, and visitors as per authorized routing following UN safety and security rules and regulations Collect and deliver goods, mails, documents, and other items. Maintain cleanliness of interior and exterior of the assigned vehicle to ensure the vehicle is kept clean and in good running condition. Maintain inventory of the vehicle, items and spares, verification and carry out handover of the vehicle. Perform daily inspection of the vehicle or assigned means of transport, Check oil, water, battery, brake, tires, wipers, lights, communication equipment, spanners, jacks, fuel etc.

8.Finance Associate 

To coordinate and provide finance, budget and administration support services involving the recording and interpretation of financial and budgetary information to ensure the efficient functioning of the support services and inform decision-making.Close coordination with WFP’s cargo superintendent/tally company and/or other logistics service providers to protect WFP interests during logistics hub operations and to ensure full cargo quantity in good condition is always received, stored, and dispatched to the intended destinations. Ensuring that adequate measures are in place for commodity handling, quality, and quantity control and that any immediate actions are being taken to safeguard the food commodities and WFP’s interest at all times.

Key Accountabilities (not all-inclusive)

Act as an escalation point in providing procedural and technical support to staff within the areas of finance and budget, to ensure compliance with WFP financial policies, rules and regulations. Participate in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures, interpret and assess the impact of changes and make recommendations on follow up actions, to support setup and implementation of proper accounting procedures, systems and internal controls. Contribute to the improvement of internal processes, enhancement of corporate systems and design of tools, to support transparent and efficient utilization of financial resources. Monitor the daily cash position in order to optimize the use of surplus cash and maximize returns on investment through the liquidity portfolio.

9.Monitoring Assistant 

To perform monitoring activities within a specific coverage area and provide reports to support the effective delivery of assistance packages.and provide feedback to project partners including farmers Monitor implementation and performance of demonstration plots, block farms, seeds plots to ensure practical adoption of new knowledge by farmers, Ensure that payments are processed in a timely manner, resolve complex issues relating to the disbursement or replenishment of funds in line with WFP rules and regulations.

Key Accountabilities (not all-inclusive)

Monitor implementation of agriculture activities ensuring timely delivery (including observation of partner performance); prepare process monitoring reports and status of action items; escalate issues and participate in resolving them.
Monitor other program activities as need to meet minimum monitoring requirements, improve linkages with other activities, or provide a new perspective Work closely with NGOs, CSOs, village and ward leaders, religious and community leaders to get required support for project implementation Monitor progress of agreed actions on gender integration, financial inclusion and market linkages in all projects.

10.National Logistics Officer – NOB (Logistics Hub Manager)

The job holder will be contributing mainly to daily planning and coordination of WFP logistics hub operations at Dodoma, including monitoring of services provided by contracted external organizations to ensure cost-effective operations and that, set objectives are achieved in full. To lead the good coordination with WFP stakeholders and service providers for effective and efficient logistics hub operations and ensure all required contract modalities are in place prior to shipments arrivals for efficient shipments receipts, storage, and dispatches to the regional destinations including Tanzania, DRC, Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda, South Sudan, and Kenya.

Key Accountabilities (not all-inclusive).

Managing the WFP’s logistics hub operations by leading, guiding, and coaching the team to achieve the effective and efficient delivery of humanitarian food and related non-food items to the regional countries through the Tanzania corridors Consolidate and plan shipments and manage operational aspects of receipts, storage, and dispatches cargoes, including checking the readiness of shipment documents and related formalities as per government and WFP’s standar Coordination with all internal and external stakeholders, to ensure the timely and cost-effective movement of commodities through the logistics hub, streamlined with downstream pipeline plans, to ensure the smooth and timely provision of food assistance to beneficiaries in the region countries using the Tanzania corridor.

Effective coordination with WFP’s stakeholders and logistics service providers, and local authorities, to ensure no delays in cargo clearance, and shipment receipts and dispatches. The supervision and monitoring of cargo receipts, storage, and dispatch operations and assurance that all necessary corrective actions are taken to achieve the most cost-efficient and timely operations, as well as the avoidance or minimization of demurrage charges, detention fees and any other additional costs that WFP may incur. Ensure that all required documentation, such as import permits, export permits, and Tanzania Bureau of Standards food quality certifications are timely processed in line with the operations plan and commodity call-forwards to avoid any food pipeline breaks to beneficiaries.
