The Role

To drive this vision, we’re seeking an experienced Full-Stack Software Engineer (TypeScript) who has a passion for building products from the ground up, owning them end to end, across the stack.
You'll be part of our core tech team that will lay the foundation of our platform and is driven by low hierarchies and high impact. We're headquartered in Berlin, offering a remote-friendly environment.

The Opportunity

In this role, you will:

• Actively shape the platform’s architecture and influence key product decisions.
• Build the backbone of a tax infrastructure that will make taxes easier for all Europeans.
• Enable fintechs to offer and create their own tax tools by integrating our system.

Tasks

Your Responsibilities

• Hands-on Ownership: Take full ownership of designing, implementing, and scaling the foundation of our platform from scratch.
• Architect & Execute : Make key architectural decisions and build scalable systems that are robust, reliable, and maintainable under load.
• Feature Delivery : Ship new features at high velocity without compromising code quality, reliability, or performance.
• Culture Building : Play a key role in fostering a high-performing, collaborative engineering culture as we scale the team.

Requirements

Experience We’re Looking For

Strong technical background with 5+ years of full-time engineering experience, preferably across the following tech stack:

• Backend Development: Solid experience with Nest.js (or Express.js ) and designing scalable RESTful or GraphQL APIs . Strong knowledge of authentication (JWT, OAuth2) and event-driven architectures (Kafka, WebSockets).
• Frontend Development: Strong proficiency in React, Next.js , and TypeScript . Familiarity with state management libraries (Redux, Zustand) and modern styling (TailwindCSS, Styled Components).
• Database Management: Expertise in PostgreSQL , schema design, query optimization, and ORMs like Prisma.
• Cloud Infrastructure (Nice to Have) : Experience with Google Cloud Platform (Cloud Run, Functions), CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions), Docker , and Kubernetes .

• Knowledge of one or more programming languages such as Go or Kotlin
• Good understanding or experience with microservice architecture, as well as experience with high-loaded systems
• Previously worked in fintech projects or startups.
• Experience in building products in regulated industries like payroll, fintech, or tax or had projects where you build a tax solution
• Experience in building embedded/white-label software products
