Project Manager Energy & Industry Transition South Korea (f/m/d)
Agora Energiewende
Berlin, Brussels or Bangkok
Agora Energiewende
In line with global trends, South Korea is facing the need to profoundly transform its energy and industry systems. Having pledged climate neutrality by 2050, the country needs a transformation to fully decarbonize both sectors within just one generation, which requires bold investments, technological innovation and a detailed policy strategy. At the same time, with more than 90% of primary energy still sourced from imported fossil fuels, the shift to clean energy is also a matter of industrial competitiveness and energy security; imperatives that have only grown more urgent in the wake of recent global energy crises.
As an international think tank, Agora is pursuing the goal of achieving a secure, affordable and climate-neutral energy and industry systems worldwide by the middle of the century.
With around 200 employees at four locations worldwide, we combine research, dialogues, and public relations in our daily work to find answers to those questions crucial to the energy transition. In doing so, we work closely with partners in numerous countries. And - very importantly - we act independently and free of economic or party-political interests.
In South Korea, Agora’s work supports the energy and industry transition in close cooperation with local and international partners. This programme, implemented from our Berlin office in close alignment with our partners in the country, focusses on evidence-based analysis, stakeholder dialogues and policy proposals.
To support Agora’s South Korea programme we are seeking a Project Manager Energy & Industry Transition South Korea (f/m/d), Berlin, Brussels, or Bangkok with frequent travels to South Korea and other Asian countries, full-time or part-time (minimum 32 hours).

- Working with Agora’s closest partners in the field; supporting them through joint projects, skill sharing, training, and peer exchange;
- Communicating results and insights from Agora’s work, as well as knowledge about global energy and industry transition policies, regulations and techno-economic developments to various audiences;
- Supporting the development of Agora’s long-term strategy in South Korea, including developing project proposals and maintaining relationships with funders and key institutional partners.
