About the opportunity We are looking for a Country Manager to lead our market entry and growth in Germany . This is a senior, high-impact role with significant ownership, ideal for someone who knows the German market deeply and wants to build something from the ground up.You will take overall responsibility for launching and scaling our card product in Germany — shaping the local strategy, building partnerships, and laying the foundation for a strong local organization.
As Country Manager Germany, you will have end-to-end responsibility for Northmill’s German expansion. You will act as the local market owner, working closely with C-level stakeholders across the organization while driving execution on the ground.
Key responsibilities
Lead the launch and expansion of Northmill’s card product in the German market
Define and execute the local commercial and go-to-market strategy
Build and maintain strong relationships with key local partners and stakeholders (e.g. credit bureaus such as SCHUFA, payment partners, advisors)
Act as Northmill’s senior representative in the German market
Ensure alignment with local regulatory and compliance frameworks in close collaboration with central teams
Recruit and build the local team over time, starting with key roles such as Marketing and Credit
Drive growth, performance, and long-term success in the German market
Who you are
We are looking for a senior, commercially driven leader with a strong entrepreneurial mindset.
5–10+ years of experience working with the German market, preferably within fintech, banking, payments, or financial services
Strong commercial background with experience driving growth and market entry initiatives
An entrepreneurial and hands-on mindset, comfortable building from scratch
An established network of relevant German market contacts (e.g. SCHUFA, partners, advisors)
Solid understanding of German regulatory and compliance frameworks
Experience from a similar market entry or scale-up journey in Germany is a strong advantage
