AI is changing how every company works. At heyData, we're now launching a dedicated function to drive AI Adoption. As one of our first two Business Automation & AI Managers, you won't just implement automations. Do you want to define what it looks like for an entire company to run on AI, with the freedom to shape how far that goes?

Do you want to be the hands-on delivery engine behind how an entire company works with AI, from first discovery conversation to a shipped, adopted process?

You'll work directly with various departments across heyData: Sales, Marketing, Business Development, Legal Ops, and more. You take manual, assumption-heavy workflows from departments and build their AI-powered replacements.

You'll report to our Team Lead, Data & AI. This is a builder-first role: We want ambitious people who understand how work actually happens and where it breaks down. With AI and Automation Tools, you ship working agents and automations, and create direct business impact.

Because this function is brand new, the mandate doesn't stop at the first backlog. As you prove out what works, you'll have real room to expand the role's reach, tooling, and influence across the company.

Your Mission

• Discover & Scope Use Cases: Take ownership of a share of the cross-department use-case backlog: talk directly with department teams to understand their manual processes and the real problem behind each request. Lightweight discovery, not lengthy workshops.

• Prioritize with Judgment: Take ownership over delivery and output. Qualify and sequence use cases by impact and feasibility.

• Build & Ship: Design, build, and ship the AI-powered version of each workflow yourself using AI tools and low-code automation platforms (e.g., Claude, n8n, Make, RelevanceAI,…). From prototype to a production-ready automation. Hand over a working, documented process the department can run on its own.

• Measure Impact: Track and report the impact of each implementation: Hours saved, errors or assumptions removed, adoption rate, using our existing analytics infrastructure.

• Stay Ahead of the Curve: Develop and manage our AI Landscape: Proactively track emerging automation and AI capabilities, and bring back what's worth adopting before anyone asks you to.

• Respect Governance: Apply the same data and AI governance standards we sell to our customers to everything you build internally.

Your Profile

• Relevant Experience: Around 2–4 years of experience in Automation, AI implementation, or a similar hands-on role at the interface of business and technology, where you've shipped working solutions, not just proposed them.

• Thrive in Fast-Paced Environments: Proven track record in a high-performance environment, such as a fast-scaling startup, scale-up, or top-tier strategy consulting firm.

• Genuine, Hands-On AI & Automation Fluency: You use tools like Claude daily and have hands-on experience building with at least one low-code automation tool such as n8n or Make.

• An AI-First Instinct: When you see a manual process, your default question is "how would AI handle this," not "how do we document this better."

• Lightweight Discovery, Heavy Building: Comfortable talking directly with non-technical department teams to scope a problem and build a solution around it.

• Bias for Action: You move fast in ambiguous environments, aren't afraid of getting something wrong on the way to getting it right, and don't wait around for instructions.

• Builder who wants Ownership: You're drawn to being early on something and shaping its direction, not just executing a predefined playbook.

• Fluent English , spoken and written; German is a plus.

• Data Literacy (Plus): Basic comfort with SQL, or data concepts is a plus.

• Domain Exposure (Plus): Prior experience in a B2B SaaS, compliance, or regulated environment is a plus.
