Job Description

We’re looking for a Senior Product Analyst who will own the analytics strategy for the Enpal App, which is the connection between our customers and their Enpal products and services - from solar and battery to EV charging, heat pumps, and energy trading - where every decision touches real money, real energy, and real behavior. You’ll help define how we measure success, what questions we ask, and which signals actually matter across fundamentally different customer segments and hardware configurations.

Your Impact

• Own the measurement framework for a complex product.  Define what success looks like across multiple customer segments - each with different value models, different behaviors, and different experience drivers.
• Turn data into product direction.  Go beyond dashboards. Uncover why customers engage (or don’t), whether they understand their financial value, and where the product fails to deliver on its promise. Your analyses will directly shape roadmap priorities.
• Design and run rigorous experiments.  Partner with PMs and engineers to design, instrument, and evaluate A/B tests across distinct customer segments - where context matters, baselines vary, and a poorly scoped test can mislead the organization.
• Drive the analytics foundation.  Define tracking requirements, establish instrumentation standards, and create scalable data infrastructure that the organization can grow into. You’ll set the standard for what good analytics looks like here.
• Enable data-informed teams.  Design self-serve dashboards, frameworks, and tools that let product, engineering, and design teams within the customer app domain move faster with confidence - without coming to you for every question.
• Direct influence on product direction.  You’ll work closely with PMs, designers, and engineers in a lean team where insights translate to decisions.

Your Profile

What We Expect

• Product analytics depth. Significant experience as a product analyst or in a similar role, with a track record of analyses that changed product direction - not just reported on it.
• Metrics design for complex systems.  You’ve defined behavioral proxies, composite health metrics, or segment-specific KPIs for products where the “right” metric wasn’t obvious.
• Strong SQL and analytics tooling.  Proficiency in SQL. Experience with product analytics platforms (PostHog, Amplitude, or similar) and comfort working with event-based tracking architectures.
• Experimentation rigor.  You’ve designed, scoped, and evaluated A/B tests - including handling segmentation, sample size, and knowing when a test result is misleading rather than conclusive.
• Stakeholder confidence.  You challenge PMs and designers with data, not deference. You can present a finding that contradicts the team’s hypothesis and make it constructive.

What Sets You Apart

• Analytics infrastructure experience. You’ve built tracking plans, instrumentation specs, or analytics setups from the ground up.
• Python or R for deeper analysis. You reach for code when SQL and dashboards aren’t enough - cohort models, statistical tests, or custom visualizations.

User Behaviour & Insights

• Analyse user behaviour to challenge assumptions, validate hypotheses, and guide product direction.
• Partner with PMs and Engineers to design, run, and evaluate A/B tests with clear, actionable outcomes.

Tracking & Instrumentation

• Define tracking requirements across the app, ensuring reliable coverage of key interactions and user flows.
• Collaborate with designers and engineers to implement and maintain a high‑quality analytics setup.

Product Collaboration

• Identify the right metrics and behavioural proxies that indicate whether product objectives are met.
• Evaluate the strength and relevance of these signals and help teams prioritise based on impact and problem severity.

Cross‑Team Support

• Work across multiple product teams initially, helping establish scalable analytics foundations as the organisation grows.
• Act as a strategic partner to Product, Engineering, and Design.

Requirements

Must‑have

• Strong experience with product analytics and defining tracking requirements.
• Direct collaboration with PMs and Designers, with the confidence to challenge decisions.
• Proficiency in SQL and modern analytics tools (e.g., PostHog, Amplitude).

Nice‑to‑have

• Experience setting up analytics from scratch.
• Familiarity with R or Python.
