Senior Product Manager (Local Payments)
At PPRO, our mission is to simplify access to local payment methods and our vision is to enable the sale of goods and services to anyone in the world using their preferred way to pay. We empower partners such as Ant Group, PayPal and Stripe to access new markets, connect with more customers, and accelerate their growth.
Our strength lies in our diverse global team with 50+ nationalities and 10+ international locations- all united around one goal – to deliver the best possible products and services to our partners and customers. While our company mission is to keep innovating global commerce, our internal mission is to #chooseaction, #beopen, #thinkcustomer, #gofurther and #wintogether
The Purpose:
As a Senior Product Manager in PPRO’s Local Payments Domain, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the payment experiences for our customers and partners, ensuring seamless, compliant, and efficient access to local payment methods. You will drive strategic product discovery and delivery, working at the intersection of Engineering, Marketing, Risk, and Commercial teams to enable seamless adoption of local payment methods to some of the world’s leading fintechs, PSPs, and merchants.
Product Managers at PPRO have the passion and abilities for ensuring that we focus our time and energy on building the right things for our customers. You will set direction, communicate with all relevant stakeholders and lead effective product discoveries with your team. Our mission is to make local payment methods as ubiquitous and accessible as credit cards. You will own and develop a portfolio of Local Payments integrations, engaging with schemes, defining a strong value proposition, and validating and setting success metrics.
In this role, you will own key business opportunities and product initiatives related to the portfolio, orchestrating flows, fine tuning the user experience, and co-creating new features together with the schemes and our customers. Your work will directly impact PPRO’s ability to scale globally by increasing adoption, improving success rates, and driving the commercial and technical integration of high-value local payment products.
What You Will Be Doing:- Execute and drive our product strategy for our local payments portfolio from scheme engagement to product feature development and market launch.
- Drive product discovery and delivery - collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to develop innovative, "Better-than-direct" payment experiences that drive value for our business and customers.
- Develop and optimise the payments product portfolio that balances scheme requirements, financial efficiency, and high success rates for consumers and merchants.
- Work hands-on with data - analyze key business opportunities and success metrics related to payment acceptance rates, scheme performance, and financial flow efficiency to drive meaningful outcomes.
- Define clear success metrics and KPIs to measure payment method efficiency, automate reporting, and enable data-driven decision-making.
- Collaborate cross-functionally – work closely with Compliance, Risk, Sales, and Customer Success teams to refine payment requirements, implement new features, and understand business needs.
- Lead roadmap planning and execution for key initiatives, such as the strategic integration of new local payment methods, optimization of existing flows, and co-creation of new products with schemes.
- Be a thought leader in local payments – stay ahead of regulatory changes, market trends, and best practices to keep PPRO at the forefront of effective, efficient, and accessible payments across the world.
- Improved adoption and financial performance of the local payments portfolio through optimization and strategic feature releases.
- Higher payment success rates and fewer manual interventions for payment flows.
- Seamless integration and expansion of new local payment methods and features into the core PPRO platform, replacing legacy integration methods.
- Clear, data-driven insights into payment performance (acceptance rates, authorization rates, scheme metrics), with real-time visibility for internal stakeholders.
- Positive feedback from customers and partners on the functionality, reliability, and value derived from the local payment methods.
- Product Leadership: Proven experience owning a product or feature set, leading product discovery, and executing successfully in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong Analytical Mindset: Ability to work with data, define KPIs, and drive decisions based on insights rather than intuition.
- Payments and Fintech Experience: Deep understanding of onboarding workflows, compliance requirements, and risk controls in financial services.
- Technical Fluency: Experience working with APIs, automation tools, and technical teams to deliver scalable and efficient solutions.
- Customer-Obsessed Mindset: Ability to deeply understand user needs and translate them into frictionless product experiences.
- Exceptional Collaboration Skills: Ability to work effectively with engineering, compliance, commercial teams, and external stakeholders.
- Bias for Action: A pragmatic approach to decision-making, balancing long-term vision with near-term execution.
- Languages: English is a must; German/Spanish/Portuguese are nice to have.
