Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst who is ready to take full ownership of our data journey. You will own the pipeline from architecting best-practice dbt models and complex transformations to enabling self-service in Looker and visualising the insights that drive our business forward. You’ll sit right at the intersection of engineering and the business, acting as a high-impact translator who can hold their own in a technical deep-dive with engineers just as easily as they can guide a stakeholder through a strategic data discovery.

We need a skilled analyst who is independent but remains a team player and values feedback and collaboration. Someone who supports the team through high-quality code reviews, mentorship, and a commitment to building a scalable, maintainable data culture. The essence of your role: 

• Complex Data Modeling (dbt): Design, build, and maintain dbt models, utilizing advanced Jinja, macros, and testing frameworks to ensure a "DRY" and scalable codebase.
• SQL Performance: Deliver high-performance, cost-optimized SQL queries designed for multi-billion row datasets, specifically managing execution efficiency within Snowflake.
• End-to-End Logic Ownership: Independently lead the "Discovery-to-Delivery" cycle for medium to highly complex tasks, translating ambiguous requirements into new logic designs and data delivery.
• Technical Mentorship & Governance: Support the growth of junior analysts through code reviews (PRs), coaching, and creating and updating documentation to maintain team output quality.
• Communication & Stakeholder Relationships: Explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences and ensure business logic is accurately reflected in query structures.

Qualifications

We care more about how you think and what you've built than where you've been. Here's what will set you up for success in this role:

• 4+ years of experience in Data Analytics, BI, or Data Science
• Advanced dbt & Data Modeling Expertise: Proven experience building and maintaining scalable dbt or similar framework projects. You have a deep understanding of dependency management, reusability, and runtime optimization.
• Expert-Level SQL & Optimization: You produce efficient, production-grade SQL for large-scale datasets with a constant eye on query performance and cost.
• Visualization Mastery: Experience in Looker (or similar tools) from backend development to storytelling via report visualizations.
• Strong Analytical Thinking & Ownership: The ability to break down ambiguous problems and take full ownership from definition to delivery. You think critically beyond the initial requirements to identify gaps and risks.
