Settlement Operations Manager

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Clearing & Settlement is a highly skilled team with a significant role within Operations, dedicated to ensuring timely and accurate settlement across our markets. We are looking for a Settlement Operations SME to be the go-to expert on DvP and FoP settlement flows - someone who can resolve complex problems, drive operational improvements, and bridge Operations and Technology. Your responsibilities will include:

• Own the investigation and resolution of complex settlement fails, unmatched instructions, and exceptions across DvP and FoP flows
• Monitor settlement efficiency and identify patterns in fails or breaks, driving root cause analysis and implementing long-term fixes
• Act as the escalation point for the wider team on difficult settlement cases and edge cases, as well as to external stakeholders
• Work closely with Product and Engineering to define requirements for new or improved settlement processes, and participate in testing and rollout
• Document recurring exceptions to support the development of automated controls and improved straight-through processing rates
• Contribute operational expertise to the scoping and setup of new settlement flows and market expansions
• Support regulatory and audit deliverables related to settlement operations, including fail rate reporting and process documentation
• Help up-skill colleagues and maintain high operational standards across the team

What We're Looking For

• Several years of hands-on experience in securities settlement, with strong working knowledge of DvP and FoP mechanics
• Good understanding of post-trade workflows: instruction matching, settlement fails, CSDR, and cross-border settlement
• Analytical and detail-oriented - comfortable identifying root causes and driving process improvements
• Able to work at the intersection of operations and technology: writing requirements, testing systems, and collaborating with engineers
• Familiarity with European settlement infrastructure such as Clearstream, Euroclear, or T2S, and SWIFT messaging standards is a plus
• Knowledge of tools/processes such as Xact, EC4S, share registration or Taxbox is advantageous
• Fluent in English (C1 level); German is a plus
