Senior Cable Installation Advisor - Nearshore & Landfall (m/f/d)

We are currently seeking an experienced

Senior Cable Installation Advisor – Nearshore & Landfall

to support a major offshore grid connection project in the Baltic Sea starting from 1 November 2026, with a long-term project perspective and an option for extension. The assignment combines remote work with project-related travel and offshore activities in Germany and Denmark.

As part of your role, you will be entrusted with the following responsibilities:

• Provide independent technical advisory services for nearshore cable installation activities, covering package scope, schedule, budget, risk, quality and HSE
• Review and assess contractor work method statements for cable logistics, handling, cable lay barge operations, simultaneous lay and burial, cable jointing, surveys, PLGR and pre-lay activities
• Monitor contractor deliverables and installation concepts against contractual, technical and project requirements
• Coordinate technical interfaces related to surveys, boulder removal, dredging, post-lay remedial works, seabed reinstatement and infrastructure crossings
• Review nearshore installation method statements and assess interfaces between onshore and offshore cable installation activities
• Develop and review technical concepts, specifications and tender documentation and technically evaluate offers for relevant work packages
• Identify technical deviations and risks and prepare recommendations and decision-support material for the project organisation

• Completed university degree in a relevant technical discipline, e.g. mechanical engineering, offshore engineering or subsea engineering
• Several years of demonstrable experience in offshore power cable installation, particularly shallow-water or nearshore cable installation
• Hands-on experience with cable lay barges and vertical injector systems
• Demonstrated experience with shore pulls into HDD ducts or micro tunnels
• Experience supporting offshore transmission, grid connection or renewable energy projects for a TSO, offshore wind developer or comparable asset owner
• Sound understanding of cable installation standards and guidance such as DNV, Carbon Trust and CIGRE
• Knowledge of cable crossing design and the general principles of cable crossing agreements
• Experience coordinating technical interfaces with Marine Warranty Surveyors
• Valid BOSIET or GWO certification for offshore activities
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Strong coordination skills, technical judgement and a structured approach to complex interfaces and project risks
