Senior Financial Controller

This is the role

We are seeking a Senior Financial Controller who balances high-level financial governance with a hands-on approach to operational accounting. In this role, you will be the technical lead for several legal entities, moving seamlessly between strategic business partnering and rigorous transactional execution.

You will own the financial lifecycle of your entities from the initial entry to the narrative for management reporting. This position requires a proactive professional who identifies potential execution gaps before they become issues and takes full ownership of the solutions. You will be expected to lead process design and improvement initiatives, ensuring our financial operations scale effectively with the business.

What you'll do:

• Full Trial Balance Ownership: Take end-to-end responsibility for the Trial Balance across several entities. You are responsible for ensuring every journal, accrual, and adjustment is technically sound and supported by appropriate documentation.

• Month-End Execution: Perform the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes for assigned entities, ensuring all deadlines are met with absolute precision.

• Deep-Dive Reconciliations: Conduct and oversee detailed monthly reconciliations of all general ledger accounts, proactively resolving issues and investigating long-standing items.

• Operational Accuracy: Work directly with the Accounts Payable, Tax & Treasury and Payroll functions to ensure the upstream data impacting your entities is accurate and coded correctly at the source.

• Business Partnering: Act as the dedicated finance partner to Country leads, providing the data and context required to help them manage their budgets and operations effectively.

• Financial Integrity: Use your knowledge of daily transactions to provide high-level analytical reviews, identifying trends, risks, and cost-saving opportunities.

• Statutory and Audit Leadership: Lead the preparation of statutory financial statements and serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, managing the entire audit process and the Prepared by Client (PBC) list.

• Coaching and Mentorship: Actively coach junior team members, providing technical guidance and helping them develop their accounting expertise.

• Team Level-Up: Support the wider Finance team in leveling up operations by sharing best practices and fostering a culture of high performance and accuracy.

• Change Management: Drive the adoption of new policies and procedures across the team to ensure consistent application of accounting standards.

• Process Engineering: Proactively identify manual bottlenecks in the day-to-day workflow. You will lead the design and implementation of automated or streamlined accounting procedures to increase efficiency.

• Strategic Projects: Spearhead finance-specific and cross-functional projects.

• Internal Controls: Support the design and refinement of internal control frameworks to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with local GAAP/IFRS and internal global policies.

Experience we’re looking for:

• B achelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA/ACCA or equivalent preferred.

• M inimum 8 years of experience in accounting or financial reporting, ideally in a multi-entity, international environment.

• S trong technical accounting skills and experience with full Trial Balance ownership.

• H igh attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality.

• T eam-oriented mindset with excellent collaboration and communication skills.

• Proactive, structured, and dependable approach to work.

• Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience with Business Central is a plus.

• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.

Naturally, being passionate and knowledgeable about podcasts, audio content, media, and entertainment is a big plus!
