Tax & Finance Operations Interns (f/m/d) - AI Tax Startup

We are building Germany's leading Tax Advisory firm. Taxforce was founded based on a simple observation: Many business owners want a tax advisor who acts as a true sparring partner: proactive, responsive, and strategic. What they often get instead is a service provider: booking receipts and filing tax returns, with little real advisory.

Founded in 2025, Taxforce rethinks tax advisory from the ground up: AI-powered and highly automated, yet personal. We’re starting with healthcare professionals, a complex and underserved segment, with the ambition to expand into many more industries over time.

Instead of pure compliance, we deliver real advisory and become long-term partners to our clients: from initial setup to established organizations.

This is a €40B market in Germany alone, with processes that have barely changed in decades. AI is now enabling a fundamental shift and there are no playbooks yet. We’re writing them.

We’re a small, highly ambitious team in Berlin, backed by €5M from Tenet VC and founded by alumni of Goldman Sachs, Harvard Business School, Bain & Company and the former Klarna Head of Engineering. Tasks

As a Tax & Finance Intern, you'll work right in the middle of our operational and advisory tax work . You'll take on responsibility from day one, both e xternally, supporting our tax advisors, and internally, in our own controlling and bookkeeping along the entire value chain: from preparing client tax returns and hands-on research, to managing invoicing, funds, and cashflow, through our monthly internal financial close. Because tech and tax work together at Taxforce, you'll be close to the point where manual work turns into automation and you'll actively help us make our processes better: :

Finance & controlling

• Take ownership of our invoicing and support funds and cashflow management
• Support the monthly internal bookkeeping and financial close
• Build and maintain reporting and controlling analyses over time

Tax Operational work

• Prepare ongoing financial accounting: receipt capture, booking, account reconciliation
• Prepare annual financial statement packages and business analyses: Provide simple input on tax returns and pre-filings (income tax, business taxes) at draft level, where you get feedback and develop new skills
• Support our digital mail and tax assessment processing through deadline control and smart document classification
• Structured client communication (document requests, follow-ups)
• Maintain client master data and support deadline contro

Tech & automation

• Test and document internal tools and workflows
• Contribute to automating recurring tasks (e.g. document classification, data extraction, integrations)
• Data preparation and simple analyses

Requirements

• Drive & ambition: You're excited to work motivated to work in a young team and thrive in fast-paced startup environments.
• Relevant studies: You're studying business administration, economics, law, tax or a related field, ideally with a focus on or strong interest in tax, accounting or finance
• First practical experience: You've gained hands-on experience through internships or working student roles (ideally in Tax, Accounting, Finance or Consulting)
• Care & accuracy: You work carefully and precisely, because in tax and finance every detail counts
• Structured & independent: You organise yourself well, prioritise between tasks and get things done without needing everything spelled out
• Tech-savvy: You're comfortable using AI tools and can implement small automations yourself and you have no problem with learning new tools and skills on the go
• Collaborative: You are a team player. Working together as a team and sharing knowledge comes naturally to you
• German language skills: We are a fast growing start-up with a diverse team. However, our customers do mostly speak German. Hence we require German language skills.
