What we do

At Joy_ , we're building the foundational layer for AI Commerce . We've built the first vision-based commerce infrastructure in the world. Our AI agents navigate the open web the way humans do and execute the full e-commerce value chain end-to-end: sourcing, checkout, payment, fulfillment, customer care, returns. Across any shop. Without merchant contracts, APIs, or closed networks.

This is our Universal Purchasing Infrastructure . It turns the entire internet into programmable commerce supply for AI agents and the platforms running on top of them.

Our first product on top of it: a universal gift card redeemable for any physical product online. It's already profitable, expanding across major retail (MediaMarkt Saturn, Deutsche Post, Thalia, dm, Lidl, Rewe, Edeka) and the largest digital loyalty platforms in DACH (Payback, DeutschlandCard, Miles & More).

And the gift card is just the wedge. The infrastructure underneath powers a much bigger ambition: becoming the execution layer for global AI Commerce .

Why this role is truly different

Most jobs offer exposure. This one offers ownership of a frontier .

You'll sit directly with the co-founders and get hands on the most exciting piece of technology in our stack: the infrastructure itself. Your job isn't to support someone else's roadmap. It's to figure out what entirely new businesses can be built on top of what we've created, and then ship them.

This is greenfield in the truest sense. The technology exists, it works, and almost nobody else in the world has it.

Tasks

What the role involves

In short: You explore what can be built on top of Joy_'s AI Commerce infrastructure, test it in the real world, and bring the winners into production. Hand in hand with the co-founders.

• Explore new business models on top of our infrastructure. What can you do when you can buy any product on the internet at scale? You'll prototype, test, and validate new applications: creator commerce, loyalty redemption, embedded checkout, agent-powered platforms, and propositions nobody has built yet. This is your main task and your biggest playground.
• Bring promising ideas into production. From first test to repeatable playbook to live revenue. You don't just ideate, you operate.
• Work hand in hand with the founders. You'll be in the room for the calls that matter: investor conversations, commercial strategy, product direction. Your perspective shapes how we move.
• Build AI-enabled processes that scale us. Internal automation, content systems, ops workflows. Wherever AI gives us an edge, you build it.
• Own creative initiatives end-to-end. Storytelling, brand, campaigns. If you have a strong instinct for what makes people care, you'll have room to use it.

Requirements

What makes a good fit

We don't care where you come from. We care where you're going and how fast you're learning. That said, some backgrounds give you a real head start.

• Insane agency and ownership. You thrive in ambiguity and turn chaos into clarity.
• Builder energy. You'd rather ship something rough than wait for permission. You enjoy figuring out unknowns.
• AI-native instincts. You use the latest tools daily. You see where they break and where they unlock something new.
• Commercial curiosity. You think in business models, not just features. You see a piece of tech and immediately ask "what could you sell with this?"
• Creative confidence. You can write a script, sketch a campaign, and build a Notion doc in the same hour.
• Affinity for aesthetics and design. You have an eye for what feels right and makes people smile.
• Background that gives you a head start. Prior startup or consulting experience makes a real difference, so does a Master's from a top-tier business school. Neither is a requirement, but either accelerates the ramp.
• Fluency in English is a must.
