Engineer II, Golang - Data Platform

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a Engineer II- Golang /GCP -within our Data Platform with a passion for building high-scalable & complex data streaming products serving millions of customers to join our Perseus team. Perseus is an in-house Global Product Analytics Service that collects and streams granular frontend and backend user interaction data in real time to multiple consumers, enabling multiple internal features of DH products.

As a member of the Tech Foundation Team, you’ll support Delivery Hero’s rapid innovation and growth. You’ll work on foundational systems that enable faster feature development, security, and reliability across our global engineering community. Every enhancement you make will contribute to our teams' ability to build, scale, and deliver quality features—ultimately impacting millions of users worldwide.

Your Mission:

• You will work on the in-house product analytics solution tracking millions of events per minute from end customers.

• You will contribute not only to the backend services but also to the service SDKs for Android, iOS and web used by millions of users.

• You will also have the opportunity to contribute with system architecture designs during our weekly refinement meetings.

• You will be a part of our agile team following SCRUM best practices.

• You will be fully responsible for the implementation of the services you will work with. From the code running on the servers (classic software engineer skills) to the code needed for deploying the infrastructure (devops skills).

• You will mentor other members of the team and new joiners.

• Review current tech-debt and provide improvements as required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of strong production experience with Golang

• Cloud architecture experience using GCP fundamentals

• 5+ years Experience with developing complex software systems scaling to millions of users with production quality deployment, monitoring and reliability.

• Experience working with APIs, microservices, and distributed architectures.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to reason about complex systems at scale.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a cross-functional, global environment.

• A mindset oriented toward automation, reliability, and developer experience.

Nice to Have:

• Experience in streaming technologies such as Kafka / AWS Kinesis / GCP Pubsub / Redpanda
