Senior UX/UI Designer - Freelance (m/f/d)

Senior UX/UI Designer (m/f/d), Banking & Insurance, Freelance, 100% Remote, starting immediately. Project duration: 6 months or longer, fulltime.

For our friendly team we are looking for an experienced Senior UX/UI Designer (m/f/d) on a freelance basis, who will support us in client projects in the banking and insurance sector, from research and concept to polished UI.

New Monday is a digital agency based in Berlin, working 100% remotely. Our clients include well-known corporations such as Atruvia, DAK, SAP and Lufthansa, as well as modern start-ups like NUMA Stays.

Tasks

• UX and UI design for digital products in the banking and insurance sector, from first concept to final handover.
• Planning, conducting and evaluating qualitative and quantitative user research (e.g. interviews, usability tests) and turning the results into concrete design decisions.
• Development of wireframes, user flows and prototypes based on research insights and user requirements.
• (Re-)design of digital products, tools and software solutions with a focus on usability and conversion.
• Working with and contributing to design systems, in close collaboration with development teams.
• Preparing and presenting design work to stakeholders on the client side, including senior management.
• Moderating workshops for ideation, requirements analysis and conception.
• Close collaboration with interdisciplinary teams in corporate structures, together with our internal design team.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant professional experience in UX/UI design. This is essential for this position.
• An outstanding portfolio that shows both your design thinking and your visual craft. Applications without a portfolio cannot be considered.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, including with stakeholders at senior level.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Advanced experience with Figma, including design systems, tokens, components and variables. This is essential for this position.
• Confident use of AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) and modern tooling as part of your daily design workflow.
• Experience in the banking or insurance sector, or in other regulated industries, is a big plus.
• Experience working in corporate structures is desirable.
• Available to start immediately and committed for a project duration of at least 6 months.
