Software Engineer - IoT/Cloud/Edge Backend (m/f/d) for the renewable energy industry

The Role

We are seeking an Engineer to build the platform that powers our global fleet of power plant controllers. You’ll build systems that ingest, store and move monitoring data from our controllers. Both in the cloud and at the edge on industrial PCs. This is a high-autonomy role where you'll own architecture decisions independently. We're looking for someone who's already done this, not someone ready to grow into it.

TASKS

What You’ll Do:

• Own the architecture of our centralized asset management platform.
• Optimize ingestion, storage and transfer of data from our control software, in the cloud and at the edge.
• Improve infrastructure, reliability and operations of our IoT fleet.
• Build products on top of plant data including performance analysis, real-time alerts and diagnostic systems.
• Collaborate closely with our controls team to turn plant data into useful insights.

REQUIREMENTS

What You Bring:

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with experience in taking systems from design through production ownership.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, regardless of your primary programming language.
• Hands-on experience with data engineering or IoT fleet operations.
• Experience making and being accountable for architecture decisions, ideally in a small team where you're the primary or sole owner of a system.Track record of owning infrastructure and operations, not just application code.
• Problem solving, generalist mindset with ability to work across varying technologies. Comfortable operating with high autonomy
• Clear, proactive communication skills.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with TypeScript (used in our cloud) or Rust (used in our controller).
• Familiarity with edge deployments, containerization, or industrial environments.
