Head of People & Culture (m/f/d)

And that's where you come in: We are looking for you as a Head of People & Culture (m/f/d) and our people function is ready for its next level. Our brand is strong, our culture is something we're proud of, and our next Head of People & Culture is someone who can turn that foundation into a modern, high-performing people function .
This is a builder role. You'll inherit a capable team, a strong culture, and a COO who provides the framework. The design and execution of a modern people function - how we hire, grow, reward, and retain great people across a fully distributed company - is yours to (re)design and implement.
This is a full-time position (40 hours/week) offering hybrid or fully remote work. We're also open to a reduced schedule of 4 days per week. Berlin-based candidates can join us at the office 1-2 days per week, while remote candidates can work from anywhere in Europe with sufficient time-zone overlap.

Your Day-to-Day
Own the People & Culture strategy and the full employee experience (recruitment and onboarding, administration, mentoring and development to offboarding)
Build and run a culture of performance across a fully remote team: clear expectations, regular honest feedback, growth people can track
Modernise and automate the function: use AI and process design to make onboarding, administration, and people's everyday questions fast, self-serve, and excellent
Run the function on data: engagement, retention, performance, hiring
Lead, coach, and grow a team of two to three across people ops, recruitment, and L&D
Be a trusted coach and sparring partner to leaders on performance, talent, and team design
Steward and strengthen our remote-first internal communication culture
Own people budgeting, controlling, and reporting with Finance
We are a Good Match if You Have:
You combine strategic ownership of the function with hands-on execution
You have built or improved a people function, not just operated one with the help of modern tools
You have driven performance and culture in a remote or distributed team specifically
You are pragmatic, hands-on, and run several priorities at once with high autonomy
You have experience in contributing to performance and compensation frameworks that focus on growing talent internally, either by building them yourself or supporting their development
You are fluent in English
Super Awesome if You Have:
Scale-up experience (50–250 people)
Built people analytics from the ground up
Familiarity with German labour law and payroll, and multi-country European remote setup
Experience in building and automating workflows and processes using latest technologies, including AI
