Senior Full-Stack Web Engineer (f/m/d)

For more than 25 years, we’ve built a strong market position in Germany and continue evolving our platform to meet global digital demands. Our international team works closely together from our headquarters in the heart of Berlin.

We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Web Engineer to join our Client team and take ownership of impactful, customer-facing systems.

You will work on initiatives that directly influence how users discover, experience, and convert on our platform - including search improvements (images & videos), SEO optimization, localization, performance enhancements, and building up a new web stack.

Tasks

• Act as a force multiplier and technical leader within your team: drive projects forward, raise the bar in code reviews, and grow other engineers through active mentorship.
• Influence technical direction beyond your own team: partner with engineers, shape system-level design, identify and communicate risks and lead architectural changes.
• Own features end-to-end - from technical design to production deployment.
• Build and maintain a modern media aggregation website using Next.js, TypeScript, and Tailwind.
• Design and implement backend services and APIs using TypeScript and Python.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers and stakeholders to shape solutions, not just implement them.
• Refactor and modernize legacy components to improve maintainability and consistency.
• Ensure reliability, scalability, and performance through solid testing, monitoring, and CI/CD practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of full-stack web development experience.
• Strong expertise with React/Next.js, TypeScript and Tailwind.
• Solid backend experience building APIs and services in Python (or a comparable backend language).
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, microservice architecture, and database design.
• Experience with containerization (Docker), Kubernetes, and cloud environments (Hetzner or similar).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing (unit, integration, e2e).
• Ability to think in systems, take ownership, and drive technical decisions collaboratively.
• Comfortable working in cross-functional, international teams.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).

Nice to Have:

• Experience with SEO-driven web applications.
• Experience improving conversion funnels and running A/B tests.
• German language skills.
