Europe pays more than twice as much for electricity as the US or Asia. To reach competitive price levels, Europe has to lean on solar and deliver the flexibility that makes this feasible. Nomos is building a full-stack power company to unlock that flexibility by connecting millions of homes to Europe’s energy markets.

What you’ll do

Nomos operates in a heavily regulated industry and we take that responsibility seriously. You will build and lead our legal function as we develop new products, enter partnerships, and grow the company.

• Lead negotiations and own our contracts with partners, grid operators, and service providers.

• Own regulatory compliance and consumer protection, anticipating changes that affect our products and plans.

• Manage legal work across financing rounds, employment, and technology, coordinating specialist counsel where needed.

Exciting challenges

• Build the function from scratch. Decide which work to bring in-house, where we need external counsel, and what we can standardise or automate. Build the contracts and processes we will rely on as Nomos grows.

• Follow the consequences through the business. A new product can change our obligations to households, our agreements with partners, and the way our software needs to work. Understand those connections and work through them before we commit.

Who you are

• You can defend your judgement. You hold a state exam or equivalent qualification and have handled complex legal work in energy, another regulated industry, or a company that grew fast. You can explain your recommendation and the reasoning behind it.

• You read what others skim. You check definitions, cross-references, and exceptions. You spot where a small change in wording creates a different obligation and follow it through to what it means in practice.

• German and English, both fluent. You can negotiate and draft precise legal documents in either language.
