Software Development Manager

What you’ll do

• Guide and grow a small team of engineers by providing regular feedback, mentorship, and coaching

• Work closely with design, product, and founding teams to define scope, set priorities, and deliver impactful projects

• Drive effective planning and execution across initiatives, ensuring engineers remain focused and unblocked

• Maintain high standards for code quality and system reliability through reviews, architectural input, and operational best practices

• Champion and help cultivate a strong engineering culture rooted in ownership, curiosity, collaboration and strong work ethic

• Contribute to shaping and evolving our engineering practices, hiring criteria, and team processes as the organization scales

What we’re looking for

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 5+ years in a leadership or managerial role at a top-tier high growth startup, or FAANG level tech company (e.g., Tech Lead, EM, SDM)

• Strong technical background and ability to engage deeply with engineering challenges - from architecture to shipping high-quality products

• Demonstrated success in cross-functional collaboration with Product, Design, and leadership to deliver projects end to end

• Excellent communication skills, both strategic and tactical - able to set direction while supporting day-to-day execution

• Deep curiosity about technology and a track record of building impactful products

• Languages: TypeScript

• Backend: GCP, Cloud Functions, Cloud Tasks, RabbitMC, Firestore, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch

• Frontend: React, shadcn/ui, Tailwind CSS

• AI Models: OpenAI, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, Llama, etc.

Bonus Points

• Previous experience as a hands-on engineer in AI, infrastructure, or product-heavy domains

• Academic background in Computer Science or a related technical field
