Platform Unit, you will play a pivotal role in shaping this mission, ensuring that security is
deeply embedded at every step while delivering a powerful and efficient platform
experience for our internal teams.
Your Mission
As Head of Platform Unit, you will take ownership of building and evolving our Platform
Unit and the secunet Platform ecosystem. Your mission is to create a powerful platform
offering for our internal product teams that delivers measurable value and significantly
accelerates product development.
You will define the strategic direction of the Platform Unit and ensure its successful
execution, with a strong focus on the needs of your internal customers.
A key aspect of your role will be to ensure that security is treated as a first-class citizen
throughout the entire platform ecosystem. By integrating Compliance & Security through
DevSecOps and SSDLC (Secure Software Development Lifecycle), you will be responsible
for maintaining the highest security standards while also enabling rapid development.

Your Responsibilities

• Build, lead, and continuously evolve the Platform Unit as an independent
  organizational entity
• Define and execute a clear platform strategy aligned with business and product goals
• Own and develop the platform offering, including:
  Internal Developer Platform (IDP)
  Core Products Platform
• Collaborate closely with internal product teams and management to understand their
  needs and identify optimization opportunities
• Maximize value delivery through scalable, efficient, and user-centric platform solutions
• Foster a strong product mindset and continuously improve Developer Experience
  (DevEx)
• Establish best practices in platform engineering, self-service, and DevEx
• Own strategic planning, prioritization, and resource allocation within the unit
• Evolve and grow high-performing teams through facilitation, mentoring, and strategic
  leadership

Your Profile

• Proven experience successfully managing highly technical teams, with a strong
  background in software engineering or related fields
• Demonstrated success in building and scaling platform or engineering organizations
  with related operating models
• Strong track record of developing small teams into high-performing organizations
  through leadership, coaching, and people development
• Excellent strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate strategy into execution
• Deep understanding of modern platform approaches (e.g., Internal Developer
  Platforms, cloud-native architectures)
• Ability to quickly grasp complex technical challenges and make informed decisions
• Strong delegation skills, enabling team autonomy without micromanagement
• Outstanding communication skills with experience engaging stakeholders at all levels,
  including executive leadership
• Servant leadership mindset: you lead with empathy, support, and motivation, earning
  authority through collaboration
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and shifting priorities in dynamic environments
• Curious and innovation-driven mindset, actively challenging the status quo
• German and English language skills

Nice to Have
Experience with emerging technologies and DevSecOps platforms
Experience in organizational transformation or change management
Passion for driving technological innovation, ideally in security-focused environments
