Working Student - Data & Information (m/f/d)

Welcome.

We are looking for a Working Student – Data & Information (m/f/d) to support our IT and Information Security team. This is a hands-on role in a modern IT environment with a focus on security, observability, and automation. You will gain practical experience with real tools, real systems, and real impact.

Your mission

• Support IT operations like identity and access and asset management (Azure Entra ID / Active Directory)
• Help build and maintain dashboards to monitor systems and services using tools like Grafana, Kibana, and Netdata
• Assist with log collection and analysis using Prometheus, Wazuh, or other observability tools
• Contribute to container-based infrastructure (e.g. Docker, Portainer, Traefik) and automation workflows
• Participate in IT security compliance projects (e.g. NIS2, ISO 27001) through documentation, reporting, and testing
• Providing first- and second-level support with ext. service providers for end users across hardware, software, and network issues
• Support internal knowledge management and documentation of IT processes
• Coordinate with external vendors or service providers when needed
• Collaborate on security-focused projects in a lab/test environment

Your profile

• You are currently studying business informatics, computer science, business administration with a strong IT focus or a related field
• You have completed or are in the process of completing an IT-related apprenticeship (e.g. Fachinformatiker Systemintegration/Anwendungsentwicklung) or have first practical IT experience
• You are comfortable working with or learning:
  • Docker and container ecosystems
  • Linux knowledge (preferably Ubuntu Server)
  • Monitoring and observability tools (Grafana, Kibana, Prometheus, Netdata)
  • Directory services and endpoint management (Active Directory, Entra ID, Intune)
  • Scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, or Python)
• You enjoy solving problems, exploring new tools, and learning how secure IT infrastructure is built
• Fluent in German (at least C1 level) and English (at least B2 level)
