As a Senior Engineer, you will architect the foundational systems that power this mission. Whether you’re building AI-powered tools to help customers find the perfect clean-energy solution, developing automation that gives our operational teams superpowers, or optimizing the algorithms that make thousands of homes more efficient, your code will directly accelerate the green energy transition.

If you enjoy this

• Own features from concept to deployment. As a technical leader, you'll partner closely with Product and Design to shape the roadmap, architect robust solutions, and guide a pod of engineers to deliver high-impact features across our full stack (Python, Node.js, TypeScript, and Vue.js).

• Design and build scalable, resilient systems. This is a hands-on coding role. You'll solve complex problems with maintainable, performant, and secure code, applying best practices like TDD, SOLID principles, and Clean Code to create solutions built to last.

• Pioneer AI Engineering at thermondo. You will be instrumental in identifying opportunities to leverage AI, from building internal "superpowers" with LLMs to creating intelligent, customer-facing features. You'll lead the charge from prototype to production.

• Champion a "You Build It, You Run It" culture. You'll take full ownership of the systems your team builds, ensuring they are scalable, observable, and resilient. You'll improve our CI/CD pipelines and advocate for testing best practices.

• Elevate the team's technical bar. Through mentorship, insightful code reviews, and pragmatic architectural decisions, you will level up the engineers around you and help them grow their craft.

And recognise yourself here

• You're a seasoned full-stack engineer with at least 6 years of professional software development experience. You have a proven track record of shipping complex web applications and your expertise spans both backend (Python and/or Node.js) and modern frontend frameworks (Vue.js with TypeScript or similar).

• A natural leader and owner. You have experience acting as a Tech Lead, Feature Lead, or Directly Responsible Individual (DRI). You thrive in roles where you can take a high-level goal, break it down, and rally a team to execute.

• A product-minded builder. You don't just write code; you solve customer problems. You're a true partner to product managers, using your technical insight to influence what gets built and why.

• Pragmatic and execution-focused. You have the veteran experience to know which corners can be cut and which can't. You balance the need for speed with the importance of quality, making smart tradeoffs to deliver value iteratively.

  Bonus Points

• Hands-on experience with AI/ML. You have practical experience building and deploying features powered by machine learning models or large language models (LLMs).

• Deep cloud and infrastructure knowledge. You're comfortable with cloud platforms like AWS or GCP and have experience with infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform) and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).

• Proven success in a high-growth startup. You've been through the scaling journey before and know how to build systems that can withstand rapid growth.

• A passion for climate tech. You're motivated by our mission to decarbonize homes and are excited to apply your skills to a problem that matters.
