QA Engineer (all genders)

About the position

We’re looking for a Senior QA Engineer (5+ years) who can own quality end-to-end for a modern web application: from defining a pragmatic QA process, to hands-on testing of finished work, to building and maintaining a reliable automated regression suite. You’ll work closely with Product and Engineering to prevent issues early, reduce risk at release time, and raise the overall quality bar across the team. This is a role for someone who naturally takes ownership, collaborates daily with engineers, and makes smart trade-offs between manual coverage and automation, always with the goal of shipping stable, customer-ready features to production.

Your Mission

Own QA process & day-to-day quality execution

• Define and improve a lightweight QA process that scales (DoR/DoD for quality, release readiness, bug triage flow).

• Partner with engineers and product to ensure each feature is testable, clear, and production-ready.

Manual testing with strong product intuition

• Test new features thoroughly across browsers/devices (where relevant), identify edge cases, and validate acceptance criteria.

• Drive exploratory testing and risk-based testing to catch issues early.

Build and maintain automated regression tests

• Design and implement a pragmatic automation strategy (what to automate vs. what to keep manual).

• Create and maintain a stable regression suite integrated into CI/CD.

• Monitor flaky tests, improve reliability, and keep the suite fast and trustworthy.

Shift-left quality

• Help the team prevent bugs by improving requirements clarity, testability, and engineering practices.

• Advocate for better observability and faster feedback loops (e.g., logs, test environments, release checks).

Quality reporting & continuous improvement

• Provide transparent quality status, release risk assessment, and trends (defects, flaky tests, escaped bugs).

• Improve team habits and standards over time.

What you bring

Experience and Background

• 5+ years in QA for web applications , combining manual testing and test automation .

• Strong understanding of test strategy , regression testing , exploratory testing , and risk-based testing .

• Proven ability to set up or improve QA processes in a product engineering team.

• Experience building and maintaining automated tests (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Selenium or similar).

• Experience with CI/CD integration for automated tests (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, etc.).

• Ability to write clear bug reports with strong reproduction steps, severity assessment, and expected behavior.

Nice to bring along

Broader technical exposure

• Experience testing APIs (Postman, REST clients) and a general understanding of backend concepts

• Basic performance awareness, spotting obvious bottlenecks or risky patterns and collaborating with engineers on root causes

Product & release quality

• Experience with test data management, environments, feature flags, and release workflows

• Familiarity with modern web stacks (TypeScript / JavaScript) and comfort reading code to strengthen test quality
