With Tandem DeutschConnect , we are running an EU-funded project that supports people in learning German as a foreign language (DaF) and in their integration into German society. A key part of this initiative is building and maintaining strong partnerships with institutions, organisations, and volunteers who make language learning and integration possible.

Your role will be to:

As a Sales Manager for Tandem DeutschConnect, together with a Junior Partner Manager, you’ll be responsible to build and maintain partnerships with educational institutions and grow our community.

Key Responsibilities

Ownership & Performance

• Own and consistently achieve monthly and quarterly partnership and growth targets (e.g. number of active partners, invite code redemptions, app usage from via partners).
• Take full responsibility for results, from pipeline generation to signed partnerships to activation and ongoing performance.
• Monitor performance closely, identify gaps, and proactively adjust strategy and execution to meet or exceed targets.
• Build scalable processes and playbooks to continuously improve efficiency and outcomes.

Outreach & Partnerships

• Proactively identify, prioritize, and close partnerships with integration course providers, language schools, JobCenters, Studentenwerke and university language centers offering German as a foreign language.
• Drive the full sales cycle end-to-end: prospecting, outreach, pitching, negotiation, and closing.
• Clearly communicate the value of Tandem DeutschConnect across channels (email, phone, in-person, and online meetings) with a strong focus on conversion.

Training & Onboarding

• Deliver high-impact trainings for teachers and institutional partners, ensuring they understand how to redeem invite codes and successfully integrate Tandem into their programs.
• Ensure fast, effective onboarding that leads to immediate usage and measurable outcomes.
• Actively track partner activation and engagement, and intervene when performance is below expectations.

Relationship Management

• Own and maintain a high-quality, up-to-date pipeline of prospects and active partners in the CRM.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for partners, with a strong focus on driving usage, retention, and expansion.
• Regularly review partner performance and identify opportunities to grow each account (more users, deeper integration, additional programs).
• Hold partners accountable where needed to ensure mutual success.

You are the right fit for the role if you:

• Are a native German speaker or have business-level German proficiency.
• Have a background in sales, partnerships, or working with non-profit organisations.
• Have experience with sales tools, project management, or CRM systems.
• Enjoy reaching out to people and are comfortable with both email and phone conversations.
• Have a friendly, outgoing personality and a talent for building relationships.
• Bring strong intercultural communication skills and enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds.
