As a grants-focussed Strategic Project Manager at Aignostics, you will contribute to winning and delivering grant-funded research projects. You will work with specialists in machine learning, pathology, data science, cloud-software engineering and compliance to bring cutting-edge R&D projects from inception to successful completion. This includes coordinating projects in sync with our external partners. The role offers frequent opportunities to diversify into additional responsibilities (strategic and technical) according to the individual’s profile and skillset.

As a strong all-rounder, you combine the capability to quickly understand and analyze complexity with a talent for clear documentation and communication.

Where your expertise is needed

• Winning and delivering grant-funded projects:

  • monitoring grant funding opportunities

  • preparing grant applications

  • coordinating delivery of grant funded projects

  • financial and technical reporting

• Establish timelines, identify and address or escalate issues as they arise, ensure progress across multi-team projects and ensure deadlines are met

• Work with senior management to define and act on strategic initiatives according to the organisation’s requirements

What we are looking for

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a technical/numerical discipline (e.g., Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering)

• 1-3 years of experience in a project management (or coordination) role within a technical domain, or managing grants in a research and/or academic environment

• Ability to understand, formulate and review reports and stakeholder communications

• Reliable, directed, thoughtful and conscientious - with demonstrated strategic problem-solving skills

• Attention to detail, excellent collaboration skills, curiosity-driven personality

• Full professional proficiency in both English and German

Ideally, you also have

• Written successful research grant proposals and scientific documents

• Knowledge of the EU and German funding landscapes

• Experience in project management

• Knowledge of any of the following: pathology, oncology, bioinformatics, medical imaging, machine learning, computer vision, data science, software engineering

• A PhD, or equivalent research experience

• Experience in considering Information Security criteria under ISO 27001
