Head of Science

Everest is a venture-backed deep tech startup on a mission to unlock 1 GtCO₂/year of permanent removals by 2035 . We’ve developed the first live sensor for Enhanced Rock Weathering (ERW) , making the most scalable carbon removal pathway measurable for the first time.

Our customers have piloted our sensors on 5 continents and are gearing up for commercial projects. We are now seeking a Head of Science to take our technology from pilot to global scale.

Tasks

You own the scientific roadmap of Everest:

• Lead experiments from lab to field validation , ensuring rigor and credibility.
• Build and mentor a world-class science team .
• Push the frontier of sensor calibration and data validation , setting the bar for ERW MRV.
• Forge partnerships with leading research groups and drive publication-level results.
• Shape IP strategy and safeguard Everest’s innovations.

Requirements

You demonstrate our values in action :

• Ambition : You hold a PhD in Physics, Chemistry, or Applied Sciences and are motivated by scaling science for gigaton climate impact.
• Execution : A proven experimentalist , you design, run, and interpret complex experiments — with results that stand up to peer or regulatory scrutiny (publications, patents, or validation).
• Learning : You’re fluent in data analysis and mathematical modeling (Python preferred) and thrive on turning raw results into quantitative insights that advance the science.
