The Growth discipline is responsible for driving business growth, building strategic partnerships, and providing deep industry expertise and advisory to both clients and internal teams. This strategic and consultative team creates meaningful relationships with clients by combining a strong understanding of IT services with insight into industry trends, operational pressures, and emerging opportunities.
Within the automotive industry, this means helping clients navigate a rapidly evolving landscape shaped by software-defined vehicles, connected mobility, electrification, autonomous technologies, digital manufacturing, supply chain resilience, customer experience transformation, and new mobility business models. Members of the Growth discipline include business development professionals at all levels, client partners, alliances and partnerships managers, industry advisors, and operational leads.
The Principal Industry Advisor is a senior specialist role central to Endava’s business strategy. This position combines deep automotive industry expertise with strong client engagement and advisory skills to strengthen Endava’s market position and drive growth. Acting as a trusted advisor, the Principal Industry Advisor shapes automotive-specific offerings, builds senior client relationships, and plays a significant role in securing and expanding key business engagements across the automotive ecosystem.
Responsibilities
Industry Knowledge & Thought Leadership
Lead the development of a comprehensive understanding of the automotive industry, staying ahead of key trends, market dynamics, regulatory drivers, and technology shifts across OEMs, suppliers, mobility providers, dealerships, and adjacent ecosystems.
Guide the creation and dissemination of thought leadership, white papers, industry points of view, and trend analyses that demonstrate Endava’s expertise in areas such as software-defined vehicles, connected services, electrification, mobility platforms, digital engineering, manufacturing transformation, customer experience, and data-led business models.
Ensure automotive industry knowledge is captured, structured, and maintained in a robust internal repository, enabling consistent sharing of insight across teams and regions.
Drive innovation and continuous improvement in Endava’s automotive offerings, ensuring they are aligned with market demand, client priorities, and future industry direction.
Lead and coordinate automotive industry briefings, knowledge-sharing sessions, and client-facing insight programmes. Oversee the curation of content for Endava’s industry learning initiatives, providing advanced educational resources that support continuous development across sales, delivery, and technical teams.
Client Engagement & Business Development
Cultivate and maintain senior relationships with automotive clients, translating their strategic priorities and operational challenges into meaningful opportunities for Endava.
Build and sustain trusted relationships with C-level executives and senior stakeholders across the automotive value chain, reinforcing Endava’s commitment to delivering high-quality, outcome-focused solutions.
Lead and support business introducers, client partners, and account teams with advanced automotive industry insight to identify, shape, and progress significant new business opportunities.
Collaborate with senior sales and marketing teams to develop and execute compelling go-to-market strategies that resonate with automotive industry trends, client needs, and Endava’s areas of strength.
Support strategic pursuits by bringing market context, client insight, and industry credibility to propositions, account planning, and executive conversations.
Internal Collaboration & Enablement
Collaborate closely with senior sales, delivery, engineering, and technical teams to steer Endava’s automotive industry strategy and priority initiatives.
Provide advanced automotive industry training, workshops, and advisory support to strengthen internal capability and improve the relevance and impact of client delivery.
Use deep industry insight to influence internal strategy, guiding Endava’s approach to current and emerging automotive challenges, including digital transformation, product innovation, platform modernisation, data strategy, and operational efficiency.
Serve as a senior strategic advisor for internal teams, helping them navigate complex automotive industry topics and translate market trends into practical client solutions.
Facilitate and lead cross-industry dialogue, roundtables, and knowledge exchanges, ensuring relevant learning from sectors such as payments, insurance, retail, logistics, and technology can be applied to automotive opportunities where appropriate.
External Representation & Networking
Represent Endava as a senior automotive industry leader through high-profile events, online content, media engagements, conferences, seminars, and client forums.
Act as a visible and credible representative of Endava within the automotive ecosystem, helping to strengthen the company’s network, influence, and reputation.
Actively participate in and, where appropriate, take leadership roles within automotive industry consortia, forums, and partner communities, building strategic relationships that can translate into meaningful business opportunities.
Expand Endava’s reach by developing relationships with external subject matter expert networks, technology partners, start-ups, consultancies, analysts, and industry bodies relevant to automotive transformation.
Insight & Opportunity Cultivation
Lead the use of client feedback, customer satisfaction assessments, market research, and industry intelligence to identify and capitalise on new avenues for automotive business growth.
Provide senior-level guidance to clients on technology implementation, best practice, and industry-specific trends, helping them make informed decisions in a complex and fast-changing market.
Facilitate the sharing of actionable automotive insights with product, engineering, delivery, and go-to-market teams to inform and enhance Endava’s service offerings.
Support and strengthen the ecosystem of partners and vendors that contribute to Endava’s automotive value proposition, identifying opportunities for strategic collaboration and differentiated market positioning.
Champion the advanced development of Endava’s automotive capabilities, identifying the key skills, technologies, platforms, and partnerships required for future investment.
Oversee and direct advisory contributions within project governance, with a particular focus on presales, strategic planning, solution shaping, and ensuring that client outcomes are aligned with industry priorities and commercial objectives.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in a senior advisory or consultancy role within the automotive industry, demonstrating a track record of leadership and strategic impact.
- Proven experience in leading and managing teams across multiple geographies, with the ability to inspire and drive high performance.
- Significant experience in developing and executing global industry strategies, with a deep understanding of market dynamics and competitive landscapes.
- A strong background in cultivating executive-level client relationships and driving strategic partnerships and collaborations.
- Demonstrated experience in thought leadership, including representing organisations at global industry events and producing impactful thought leadership materials.
- In-depth knowledge of industry-specific trends, challenges, and opportunities, with the ability to apply this insight to drive business value.
- Exceptional strategic management and leadership skills, with the ability to communicate persuasively and convincingly across various levels of an organisation.
- Strong analytical skills with the capability to analyse market trends and competitive landscapes to inform strategy development.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to mentor and influence others, fostering a cohesive vision and strategic approach.
