Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use..

EMEA HSDC SLA Support Specialist (m/f/d)
(Limited contract for 2 years as maternity leave cover)
Role Purpose
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized professional to manage the RFQ (Request for Quotation) process for our key Hyperscale Data Center (HSDC) customers for the EMEA region. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for sales teams and ensure timely, accurate, and commercially sound responses to customer RFQ requests, while adhering to departmental procedures and deadlines.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Determine customer requirements and prepare quotations in Vendavo, based on customer requirements and supporting specific customer SLA.
- Interact with Sales, Supply Chain, PLM, and Engineering, and/or other departments as needed.
- Communicate and drive deadlines for receipt of inputs.
- Assemble all information into a quality document for submission to the customer.
- Ensure all points are clear and concise to prevent confusion or misinterpretation of the quote or contract.
- Process extensions and/or revisions for quotes and contracts within established guidelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance and streamline processes for formal quotations and contractual agreements.
Minimum Education/Experience Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business or technical field or equivalent experience, MBA and/or applicable experience a PLUS.
- 100% fluent in English. Other languages are a PLUS.
Required Skills:
- Experience in a customer-facing role.
- Self-motivated with a proven ability to work under varying deadlines on multiple project proposals.
- Comprehensive computer and system skills (Office, SAP, Vendavo, Salesforce, Excel & etc.).
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with external and internal customers.
- Demonstrated attention to detail with a track record of providing error-free work.
- Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to face new challenges and opportunities.
Desired Skills:
- Commercial experience.
- Knowledge of Corning products and markets.
- Knowledge of key pricing/contract rules/terms for these key customers (e.g. Incoterms, rebates, export control, etc.).
