Product Engineer

About the Role

This is a product-focused engineering role at an early-stage energy technology company building the infrastructure that powers dynamic electricity plans for European households. You will sit at the intersection of customer discovery and end-to-end delivery, owning mission-critical problems across billing, procurement, retention, and cost optimization in the energy retail space. The team is small, moves fast, and expects you to have outsized impact on both the product and the culture.

What You'll Do

• Spend time directly with customers to understand their problems and develop product intuition that shapes engineering decisions.

• Ship full-stack features from discovery through to production, owning the entire lifecycle.

• Use AI-native development tools such as Claude Code and Cursor as core force multipliers in your workflow.

• Take ownership of zero-to-one problems, such as dunning workflows and customer portal re-engineering.

• Prioritize ruthlessly: decide what to build, what to skip, and when to kill initiatives.

• Help shape engineering culture, tooling, and processes, and raise the bar when recruiting.

• Stay at the frontier of new tools and methods, and bring the broader team along with you.

What We're Looking For

• A demonstrated track record of shipping real, end-to-end products, assessed by what you have built rather than years on a resume.

• Strong full-stack capabilities with comfort owning systems from front to back.

• Fluency or native proficiency in German (C1 or above) is a firm requirement for this role.

• Genuine comfort with AI-native development tooling and a habit of using it to increase your output.

• High ownership and sound judgment, with the ability to thrive in ambiguity at an early-stage company.

• Evidence of technical exceptionality: a strong shipping history, elite competition results, open-source contributions, research, or founding experience.

• Experience in or strong interest in energy retail domains such as billing, procurement, customer retention, or cost optimization is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: 80,000 to 120,000 EUR annually. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

Location

This is a fully on-site role based in Berlin, Germany , with an expectation of five days per week in the office. Remote and hybrid arrangements are not available.
