Fotografiska Berlin – the contemporary museum of photography, art, and culture – opened in September 2023 with a mission to inspire new perspectives and spark conversations through photography and contemporary art. The Role

Located on the ground floor of Fotografiska Berlin, our Cafe + Bar & Bakery invites you to immerse yourself in a world where art, music and an all day dining experience converge for all Members and Guest's to experience.

Our Cafe Team are ambassador's of service excellence, that understand the critical role that exceeding and maintaining service expectations plays in the success of the Cafe & Bakery operations at Fotografiksa. Our Cafe Team represent's service excellence by providing kind, knowledgable and humble hospitality, alongside warmth and grace in every interaction. Reporting into the Cafe & Bar Manager's, the role entails all aspects of the Bakery and Cafe, Counter, Bar and Floor service operations, and represents Fotografiska with hospitality and generosity in every interaction.

Requirements

• 3 + years acting as a Server, Bartender or Barista role in luxury hospitality, food + beverage environments.

• Supply our members and guests with in depth knowledge of all Cafe + Bar & Bakery food + beverage menu items and ensure the quality of all food + beverage items delivered are consistently meeting the high standards set by the Fotografiska F&B Leadership team.
• Maintain thorough working knowledge of all drink menus; coffee / tea / non-alcoholic / wines / beers / spirits and be able to articulate to guests in an engaged and thoughtful manner.
• The capacity to work within an ever-changing environment, and the willingness to support in other areas as required to maintain the integrity of the Fotografiska F&B operations.
• Solution oriented and taking pride in the details, the Cafe Team builds, delivers and stewards the moments that define the Bakery and Cafe experience for our members, and guests.
• Aid to instill an excellent work environment, working alongside a diverse group of humans from various experiences, countries, and cultures together centered up teamwork and mutual respect.
• Knowledge of craft and classic cocktails, with an understanding of old world / new world wines.    
• Ongoing attendance at scheduled team trainings to ensure detailed product knowledge, growth and professionalism.
• Proficient use of POS for ordering and billing purposes.
• Cash handling and communication skills with management done with the upmost professionalism.
• Execution of the order of service in a timely and accurate manner with the goal of creating memorable service.
• Set up and breakdown of cafe requirements on a daily level / weekly and monthly schedule.
• Flourish while working against deadlines while having the ability to be self-motivated, pro-active and to find creative solutions to challenging problems.
• Have a positive impact, taking responsibility and initiative to resolve issues, always clearly communicating with our members, guests and F&B Leadership.
• Multitask a workflow of warm and humble greetings, food service, cocktail building, wine service and operational discretion whilst providing a seamless experience for our members and guests.
• Attention to detail across all aspects of bar maintenance in terms of opening, closing, daily/weekly and monthly checklist completion, and bar equipment upkeep.
• Clear communication on orders to ensure the delivery of drinks are in a timely manner, and alerting the Bar Management when running low on any particular item's.
• Schedule availability Monday - Sunday and AM + PM shifts required. This role may also encompass Event's operations as the business dictates.
• Maintain complete knowledge of and compliance with all Health & Safety, company Employment policies/service procedures/standards as these relate to the FOH team.
