Manager, Data Science, Dynamic Promo - Quick Commerce

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a Manager, Data Science, Dynamic Promo,   to join Quick Commerce on our journey to always deliver amazing experiences.

Be part of redefining how customers experience quick commerce. You’ll help build technology that scales our non-food offerings, reaching new market segments and driving revenue growth. By innovating within our Quick Commerce Team, you’ll make Delivery Hero the go-to platform for a broad range of products, helping us grow faster and deliver more value to customers around the world.

In this role, you will lead a squad of 4 to 7 data scientists and ML engineers, taking full technical ownership and accountability for delivery within your squad. You will work at the intersection of tech and product, translating complex business challenges into robust data science solutions and defining the technical strategy to drive growth through innovative promotional strategies. We are reinventing online shopping by building a scalable product ecosystem that optimizes operational processes and enhances user experience.

• Define and own the technical strategy and roadmap for the Dynamic Promo squad, ensuring alignment with business goals. 
• Translate ambiguous business problems into well-defined technical data science items that your team can work on efficiently. 
• Lead, mentor, and develop individual team members, fostering a culture of end-to-end ownership and technical excellence. 
• Supervise the entire Data Science lifecycle, including model design, evaluation, operationalization, and performance monitoring. 
• Proactively drive the application of classical ML and causal methods to improve business outcomes and promotional efficiency. 
• Collaborate closely with product counterparts to prioritize high-impact solutions and conduct rigorous stakeholder management. 
• Establish and maintain excellent operational practices for stability, performance, and cost-efficiency of products. 

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a Data Science Manager with a proven track record as a people leader

• Deep theoretical and applied knowledge of classical machine learning and causal inference methods. 

• Proven ability to proactively define technical strategy and bring structure to complex, unstructured problem spaces. 

• Expertise in A/B testing methodologies and statistical evaluation to measure business impact. 

• Fluency in Python and its scientific stack (numpy, pandas, scikit-learn, etc.) and proficiency in SQL. 

• Experience in people management and mentoring, with a focus on developing talent and maintaining high engagement. 

• Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to summarize complex technical topics for diverse stakeholders. 

Nice to have:

• Experience with forecasting models and time-series analysis. 

• Experience in e-commerce, retail, or fast-moving tech organizations. 

• Knowledge of cloud platforms (GCP, AWS) and modern infrastructure tools.
