AI & Data Governance Specialist (f/m/d)

To support the growth of our organization, we are looking for an AI & Data Governance Specialist (f/m/d) with strong expertise in data protection, regulatory compliance, and governance processes in digital and AI-driven environments.

In this role, you will oversee privacy and governance-related processes across the organization and ensure compliance with relevant legal and regulatory frameworks. Acting as a central interface between management, operational teams, and governance stakeholders, you will coordinate data protection requests, maintain governance documentation, and support the responsible implementation of AI-powered public-sector solutions.

Tasks

• Manage and coordinate data protection and governance-related processes across the organization
• Prepare, review, and track governance documentation, including applications, forms, and data field approvals
• Ensure compliance with relevant legal, regulatory, and operational standards related to AI and data governance
• Coordinate data protection requests, escalations, and approval workflows in collaboration with internal stakeholders
• Act as a key interface between operational teams, management, and governance stakeholders regarding privacy-related matters
• Maintain oversight of ongoing governance requests and ensure timely and transparent communication across teams
• Support the implementation of compliant AI and data management practices within digital public-sector applications
• Contribute to the development and optimization of governance processes, documentation standards, and operational procedures
• Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Legal, and Governance teams
• Monitor relevant developments in AI regulation, data protection, and public-sector compliance frameworks

Requirements

• Degree in Law, Business Informatics, Information Security, Public Administration, Governance, Compliance, or a related field
• Professional experience in Data Governance, Data Protection, Compliance, AI Governance, or a similar role
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks related to data privacy, governance, and AI systems
• Experience coordinating governance processes, approvals, and compliance documentation
• Ability to communicate effectively with both operational teams and senior management
• Strong organizational, analytical, and stakeholder management skills
• Structured and detail-oriented working style with a high sense of responsibility
• Interest in GovTech, AI-driven platforms, and digital public administration
• Comfortable working in an interdisciplinary and fast-paced startup environment
• Fluent English skills; German is a strong plus
